Quilt of the Future—Adult Workshop:
In fours hours over two days, work-shoppers will collaboratively sew/weave a quilt of paper. The process of the quilt’s development will be documented over the course of the weekend. Work-shoppers are invited to bring paper scraps of any kind from home to contribute to the project. Envelopes, letters, old wrapping paper, collage-able books, copies of poems — ephemera of all kinds. Together, the group will decide the ultimate future of the quilt. No sewing skills required, but please bring extra sewing needles of all sizes !
Workshop artists will receive electronic copies of ADR’s documentation and photos of the completed quilt.
Draw until you dance—Children’s workshop:
In this hour and a half whirlwind workshop, children will follow the connections and shared impulses between drawing and dance, dance and drawing. Guided drawing experiments on paper will inspire improvised dances and vice versa. Kids will collaborate, blow off some steam and create drawings to share and take home.
Ages four and up — younger children welcome accompanied by an adult.
Rebecca Graham – Basketry

We will make small berry baskets from common materials found in gardens and on the forest floor, including day lilly leaves, scavenged birch and cherry bark, and English ivy. The workshop will cover harvesting and preparation of materials as well as the difference between two major weaving techniques, and will include a handout. Participants will leave with their own unique berry basket, greater understanding of the creative potential of natural materials (and yard waste!) and the skills to experiment on their own.
